Natural white oak
Engineered hardwood
7.5 in wide, 3/4 in thick, 4 mm wear layer, matte hardwax oil
$11.20 per sq ft installed
Our best seller. Hides dust and dog hair better than dark floors.
Honey red oak
Solid hardwood
5 in plank, 3/4 in thick, site-finished, satin water-based poly
$9.60 per sq ft installed
Warmer than white oak and $1.60 less per sq ft installed. Takes stain evenly if you want to go darker later.
Character hickory
Engineered hardwood
6.5 in wide, wire-brushed, mixed light and dark boards
$10.40 per sq ft installed
The hardest domestic species we stock. Good for big dogs and busy kitchens.
Dark walnut stain
Solid hardwood
Red oak, 2.25 in strip, dark walnut stain, three coats satin poly
$10.80 per sq ft installed
Rich color, but shows dust and scratches. We will tell you honestly if it suits your house.
Chestnut LVP
Luxury vinyl plank, rigid core
7 in wide, 6.5 mm, 20 mil wear layer, attached pad
$6.10 per sq ft installed
Waterproof. Our pick for basements, laundry rooms and rentals.
Installed prices include standard prep, underlayment and quarter round. Stairs, floor leveling and tear-out are quoted separately.

Start to finish
A typical 600 sq ft floor, day by day
Drag along the strip to see what happens and when. Most living room and hall jobs take four to five working days.

Day 1, morning
Clear the room and test moisture
We move furniture, pull carpet and tack strip, and take pin and slab readings. Wood goes down only when the subfloor is within 4 percent of the planks, or 2 percent for planks over 3 in wide.
Day 1, afternoon
Fix the subfloor
Squeaks get screwed down, low spots get filled and high seams get planed. We aim for flat within 3/16 in over 10 ft.
Day 2
Snap the layout
We find the longest straight wall, square the room and plan where the rows end, so you never get a sliver board at a doorway.
Days 2 to 4
Lay the floor
Boards are racked from several boxes so the color mixes evenly. Solid wood is nailed every 8 in. Engineered is glued or floated depending on the room.
Day 4
Trim, transitions and stair nosing
Quarter round, thresholds and flush stair nosing are cut on site and hand sanded, so the edges sit tight.
Day 5
Walkthrough and care kit
We vacuum, put felt pads on your furniture legs and walk the floor with you. You keep a cleaner, a spare box of boards and our phone number.
Sanding and refinishing an existing floor runs differently: two days to sand and stain, then one coat a day. Stay off it for 24 hours after the last coat.

In their words
What people say after the furniture goes back
We borrowed four herringbone samples over two weekends before choosing (I know). Luis and the crew finished in four days and the border around the fireplace hearth is tighter than I thought possible. They swept up every night too.
Megan R.WestoverSolid white oak herringbone Two other companies told us to replace it. Ray sanded it, pulled out three burnt boards from an old radiator spot and wove in salvaged oak. You cannot find the patch. Dust was minimal with their vacuum sanders.
Tom and Asha K.Cedar HollowRefinished 1938 red oak, 640 sq ft Quote was $16,380, final invoice was $16,380. They found a soft spot by the patio door, showed it to me before fixing it, and didn't charge for it since it was under the 10 sq ft the quote allowed for. Would use again.
Greg P.North BramleyGreat room and bar, 1,420 sq ft Our kitchen sits on a slab and I assumed vinyl was the only choice. Dan ran a moisture test, explained the readings, and we got real oak glued down. Two months in, no gaps, no hollow spots.
Lena D.FenwickGalley kitchen, oak glued to slab Floor is great and fully waterproof, which we found out for real when the water heater let go in October. One star off because our install date slipped a week waiting on trim. Nora called ahead and offered a Saturday to make it up.
Carlos M.Laurel RunBasement LVP, 820 sq ft Odd angles everywhere in an A-frame. Jonah scribed every board to the sloped walls and the stair landing. They also left a labeled spare box in the closet, which I did not know to ask for.
Priya S.Pine RidgeA-frame cabin, maple, 860 sq ft Replaced our carpeted stairs with red oak treads. Stain matched the 1960s hall floor first try. The Thursday late hours helped since we both work till 5.
Bill H.Ashby MillsEntry floor and 14 new stair treads Chevron costs more to lay and they were upfront about why. The layout drawing they sent before starting showed exactly where the points would land at the sliding door. It looks like a magazine and the kids are already on it.
