Patios, walls and gardens, built by one family since 1987.

We design and build stone patios, retaining walls and planting for homes across the Laurel Creek valley. Same family, same yard on Quarry Road, and a crew lead who will still be here in ten years when you call.

What we build

Six things, done properly

We stay with the work we know. Every job is designed in house and built by our own crews, never subcontracted.

  • Circular cobblestone patio edged with a low granite seat wall

Concrete paver, flagstone and bluestone patios on a compacted 6 inch stone base. Most patios take 4 to 7 working days.

    From $28 per sq ft

  • Tan split-face block garden wall with a capstone row

Segmental block and natural stone walls with proper drainage stone and geogrid. Built to hold a slope for decades, not a few winters.

From $55 per face sq ft

  • Deep perennial border of phlox and loosestrife beside a gravel path with an arbor

Scaled planting plans, native shrubs and perennials, and beds dug and amended before anything goes in the ground.

    Planting plans from $350

  • Low bollard light glowing between two shrubs at dusk

Low-voltage LED path, step and uplighting on a timer and photocell. Brass and copper fixtures that weather instead of rust.

    From $3,200 for 8 fixtures

  • Yellow crocus coming up through fresh hardwood mulch

Spring and fall cleanups, edging, hardwood mulch and shrub pruning. Same crew each visit, on a set week.

    Spring cleanup from $385

  • Rock-lined drainage swale running down a sloped lawn toward a row of evergreens

French drains, dry creek beds and regrading that move water away from the foundation and off the lawn.

    From $38 per linear ft

What people say once the crew has gone home

4.9Average from 312 reviews

Our back slope had been sliding onto the lawn for years. Mike and his crew cut it into three fieldstone terraces with steps in the middle. Eleven working days, and it came through the April storms without a single stone moving.

We got three quotes for a 420 sq ft patio. Hollis was not the cheapest but they were the only ones who dug down 8 inches and showed us the base before laying a single paver. Quote was $14,860, final invoice was $14,860.

Ruth drew a planting plan for our side yard that actually works in shade. One hydrangea didn't make it through the winter and they replaced it in April without us asking.

Third generation of Hollis to look after my yard. Walt did it in the 90s, Dan does it now and his son Sam was on the leaf blower last month. Same week every year, fair price.

Beautiful fire pit and seat wall. Start date slipped a week because of rain, which they told us about early. Work itself is excellent and the stone matches our chimney.
