Drain questions we hear a lot
Usually grease and food that set up in the line past the trap. Clearing it buys time. If it comes back within a year, a camera look or jetting fixes the cause instead of the symptom.
Please don't. It rarely clears a full clog, it eats older metal pipes and it sits in the line where our tech has to work. Tell us if you already used some so we can protect our hands and eyes.
A cable punches a hole through the clog and is fine for most single drains. Jetting scrubs the whole pipe wall with high pressure water and is the right call for roots, grease buildup and repeat backups.
If the main line has backed up twice, if you have big trees near the sewer or if you are buying an older house, yes. It is $295, or $150 added to a clearing, and you get the video.
In Millbrook, Ashford and Lakeside the homeowner owns the lateral from the house to the main, including the part under the sidewalk. Check with your village if you are not sure.
Often not. Most backups clear with a cable or jetter. If a section is broken, a spot repair opens one small hole. For full replacements we quote trenchless lining or pipe bursting where the line allows it.
