  • We wanted the wall between the kitchen and dining room gone without a beam hanging down, and they put in a flush beam you honestly cannot see. The drawings showed every outlet before demo. Done in 38 working days, they had said 40. Final bill was the contract plus the one change order we asked for (pantry pull-outs, worth it).

  • Dana sent a schedule every Friday, what got done and what was next. Inspections were booked before we thought to ask. Egress window went in day 3 and the bathroom passed rough-in first try. The basement is an actual room now instead of where boxes go to die.

  • We needed a variance for the side setback, which I was dreading. Mark did the drawings for the hearing and came with us. Footings to final was just under 5 months. Neighbors keep asking if the family room was always there, which I take as the point.

  • Kept our cabinet boxes, new doors, counters, backsplash and lights. Every item had its own line, so we dropped the glass uppers and watched the total change. 3 weeks. The crew vacuumed every single night.

  • Quality is great and the wet bar plumbing is behind a removable panel like they said. Only knock is the quartz top showed up 8 days late. That was the fabricator, not them, and they called us the same day and moved the trim work up so nobody sat around. Still would have liked it on time.

  • Wanted a screened porch we could use April through October. They used helical piers instead of digging footings, so the roots of our big oak were left alone. Clear contract, clean site. Came back the next spring to fix a sticking door, no charge.

    Ruth S.Carver FallsThree-season porch addition
  • Our 1962 house had lead paint on the original trim. They tested it, put up plastic containment, ran HEPA vacs the whole time and gave us the results in writing at the end. The island is where the pantry closet used to be and the mudroom finally has a bench. The permit took a week longer than we hoped, but they warned us up front.

  • Bedroom and full bath over our two-car garage, new trusses and a stair. The structural engineer and the city inspector both had questions, and Northfield had answers on paper the same day. 22 weeks start to finish. Would hire again.
